Raw amber is not processed and is in its most natural form. Raw amber does have more succinic acid than polished. A lot of customers prefer this.

Polished Baltic amber has been pressure-treated to make it shine. It still contains succinic acid but in a lower amount.

So which is better? We have amazing feedback from both our raw and polished designs so we suggest you just choose what you love!

Baltic amber comes in a variety of colors as it is a natural stone. From the usual familiar yellow to black. There is a small amount of light amber. So in order to extract other amber colors (honey, cognac, cherry or black), it must be slightly heated or exposed to high pressure in an autoclave.
